“The Relationship Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) educational initiative that incorporates a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum, Healthy Relationships 101, in New York City high schools. We have also published a book by the same title. We use a process called “Nonviolent Communication” (NVC) that gives one the tools to identify and articulate their needs and feelings without blame and judgment. We also teach an approach to listening empathically.”
Mission
“We seek to build a safer, more harmonious society through establishing Social and Emotional Learning as a core component of the learning process, while raising awareness of the need for Relationship Education in the curriculum of America’s schools.”

TEACHER TRAINING
Our Professional Development Program instructs educators how to teach the Healthy Relationships 101 curriculum. This program focuses on the unique social and emotional challenges that students face and equips teachers with the tools to support them.
The Teacher Training also includes printed materials that are invaluable in improving communication and understanding, not only with students, but with parents, administrators, and fellow teachers.
PARENT WORKSHOP
In this workshop, parents explore their own perceptions and understanding of relationship dynamics. The Instructor guides parents through key points and helps them better define their own relationships as well as how to strengthen relationships with their children.
Through inquiry and practice of our communication skill set, parents can share what they have learned with their children to help fortify the parent/child relationship. The universal principles of Healthy Relationships 101 apply to couples, single parents, and guardians alike.
