“Creating a Brighter Future for Humanity”
Chiropractic college is a professional post graduate degree for people seeking to become a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC).
Chiropractic college is a five year academic program which has been condensed down to three and a half years (14 quarters). Chiropractic students generally go to school year round, taking only a week off in the spring and fall, and a three week break in the summer and winter.
Life West does offer an accelerated curriculum to qualifying students which allows them to complete the program in just 12 quarters and graduate in just three years.
Year One: The coursework in the first year is very science heavy. Students learn all the intricate details of the anatomy and physiology of the human body at a professional doctoral level. In the first year you will also have a lot of hands-on learning including learning to palpate and assess the spine and begin to learn the basics of chiropractic technique.
Year Two: In this portion of the curriculum, students focus on applying the science to the function and assessment of the human body. There is great deal of focus on learning chiropractic technique and examinations skills as well as patient communication and business skills.
Year Three and Beyond: The third year is about taking the learning from the classroom and applying it to real people in a clinical setting. In the third year, you will learn advanced technique, specialties of your choosing and a great deal about the business of chiropractic.
