Organized in 1994, The Haden Institute offers Dream Leader and Spiritual Direction Training in the Christian, Jungian, and mystical tradition. Our programs are offered for professionals and non-professionals. We have over 200 graduates in the US and Canada. Graduates incorporate our training into their own lives, churches and professions. Some set up private practices. The foundation of The Haden Institute is the relationship between spirituality and Jungian psychology. This purpose is achieved through training courses and conferences.
Training courses are combinations of distance and on-site learning. The Spiritual Direction Training – Canada, co-sponsored by The Mount Carmel Spiritual Centre (Carmelite Friars) and The Haden Institute, meets at The Mt. Carmel Spiritual Centre, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada for seven-day intensives, twice a year, for two years. The Spiritual Direction Training – US and the Dream Leader Training meet at Kanuga Conference Center, Hendersonville, NC, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, for four-day weekend intensives, three times per year, for two years. All three training programs offer certificates of completion and have top faculty from across Canada and the US.
The annual Summer Dream Conference has become the portal for Christian dream work in the country. It is a major conference for all who want to recover the ancient Biblical tradition of listening for God’s word in our nightly dreams. The conference has been designed for new and returning participants. It is for professionals (especially clergy), therapists, counselors, lay dream group leaders, and anyone who wants to integrate this process into her or his life. Many return each summer for support, brokering and learning from top dream faculty from across the country.
Graduate Weekends are offered for the continuing education and camaraderie of our graduates.
