Strategic Plan 2014-2019
The school’s initial strategic plan for the five-year period 2008-2013 laid out goals and specific objectives in the areas of research, instruction and service. The college monitored its success in achieving those objectives yearly and systematically used the evaluation findings for continuous improvement.
Looking Back: The Strategic Plan 2008-2013
In January 2012, the school’s Leadership Council held a retreat to outline the 2014-19 strategic plan development process and to continue to assure the quality of current academic programs. This resulted in a three-part process plan that was presented for discussion at the spring 2012 college-wide faculty and staff meeting. The plan called for the creation of four internal planning workgroups representing faculty, staff and students, three community advisory committees and five professional discipline-specific advisory groups. The Leadership Council identified three overarching principles for this strategic planning process: 1) creating the best possible student experience; 2) and conducting research that advances the public’s health; 3) delivering consistently world-class education. The 2014-2019 strategic plan, developed through this highly participatory faculty-led process, articulated six strategic focus areas for the college: education, research, workforce, diversity, resources, service and applied public health, and and laid out goals and objectives in each area.
